Most families we photograph have at least one child under six. The shoot works best when it fits around them, not the other way round.

Pick the right hour

Book 07:30 if your children wake early, or 15:00 after the afternoon nap. Both avoid the strongest sun. 06:00 is beautiful but rarely worth a grumpy start.

Let them play

We do not line children up for long. The photographer gives them small jobs: run to Dad, find the red lantern, carry the hat. The best family photos come from these minutes.

Snacks, water and a break

Bring a favourite snack and plan a five-minute stop halfway. Ninety minutes is long for a three-year-old; a break in the shade resets everyone.

What to wear

Soft, cool fabrics and shoes they can run in. Read our guide to what to wear for colours that suit the old town.

Prices for children

Children aged 4 to 11 have their own lower price on every package. You see the total for your group before you pay.
